Dental check up

Dental check-ups are the first step for maintaining a healthy smile. It is the process whereby we assess your oral health to see if you need any treatment.

You might not feel there's anything wrong with your teeth or your mouth but it's essential to have regular check-ups to keep your mouth healthy and more importantly, your general health. Here at Wisdom Dental we believe prevention is better than cure.

White fillings

White fillings are material which is designed to blend in with the shade of your tooth, making it virtually seamless when these fillings are placed. They are hardly noticeable. Silver fillings historically are more durable than white fillings but technology is starting to catch up and their are some materials on the market that are proving to be long-lasting, with great aesthetics.

Bridges

A dental bridge is a way to replace missing teeth, a bridge is usually a porcelain material which is crafted in a way to look like your natural tooth that you have lost.

This is either attached the adjacent tooth through adhesive or by crowning the adjacent tooth. A dental bridge gives you tooth replacement within two visits. However, in some cases following an extraction we do need to wait for the gum to heal before placing any permanent restoration and the teeth supporting the bridge need to be strong enough to support this.

Root canal treatment

Root canal treatment is required when a nerve within the tooth becomes inflamed and possibly infected, you may commonly know this as a dental abscess, which is extremely uncomfortable and may cause facial swelling if left untreated.

Root canal treatment is a very skilled procedure which cleans out this system to remove the infection, carried out usually over 2 or more visits.

Crowns

A dental crown is a restorative option for damaged teeth, or where a tooth needs to be protected, they can be made out of metals, porcelain, resin and ceramics. The tooth having the dental crown is usually prepped heavily in order to make space for the new restoration to be placed. They are also commonly known as dental ‘caps’. Once the dental crown is cemented into place on your tooth, it usually covers all visible areas the tooth and is an excellent long term solution for compromised tee

Extractions

An extraction is the treatment where a whole tooth is removed from the mouth.

Sometimes teeth become hopeless and may even hinder or burden your oral health and general health. In this case, it is best for complete removal. Our dentists are experienced at preforming this procedure and will make the experience as pleasant as possible.
